Spongebob Squarepants

I am loving this cake! LOL I watch SB just as much as my kids! Anyways, I decided to do this cake in all buttercream. The scene is Jellyfish Fields. I first airbrushed the hills with yellow (yellow+blue=green!) so I could get that light green color. Then, I piped on the outline of the hills with green buttercream and used a wet paint brush to swipe it upwards giving it the effect of a grassy field :D Used the leaf tip for the seaweed, and free handed the flowers, jellyfish and bubbles! The figurines are licensed cake toppers.

Another Kitchen update!!

Whoohooo!!!! Plumbing and electrical has been installed, the drywall hung and sanded!! Its a bit dusty still, but if all goes well, I will start painting in the morning!!! I still have quite a bit left to buy in terms of the tables, shelves, sinks....okay, so all I really have so far is an oven LOL! BUT ITS ALMOST DONE!!!! Excited doesn't even touch how I feel right now!!! Now...pink walls, green walls....pink, green, pink green...that is the choice I have to make TODAY!! So, now I am off to obsess over paint swatches...I hope I pick something I can live with a long time, I sure don't want to be repainting anytime soon!!

First Birthday!

My oh  my...Don't take this wrong, but I think I did a killer job on the cakes this weekend LOL!!!! I am so proud how far I have come in a year! This gives me some much needed confidence that I might actually survive in the cake decorating world!! The cake is a simple vanilla cake, and BC with fondant accents!

Sweet 5th

So sweet! I am just tickled to death over how this cake turned out!!! The mom asked for the colors, then stripes on bottom, and maybe polka dots on top...SOO I did that, but added a little more interest with some Gerber Daises and butterflys!! I also made some of the purple dots on the top tier little flowers too :D Cake is chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream filling, then decorated with buttercream and fondant accents!!!

Fun and Colorful!!

I love this customer!! She had GREAT taste in cake designs and flavors!! Top tier: Vanilla cake, raspberry filling, all torte layers! (2 cake layers were baked, then cut in half horizontally to make a total of 4 layers of cake, and 3 layers of filling!) Bottom tier was a Chocolate Cream Cheese Pound cake, with fresh Cannoli Cream filling!! Cake pop flavors included Carrot and Peanut Butter Cake!!

White, Black, and Silver Birthday

What an elegant and sophisticated cake for a 20 year old's birthday! The cake is a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, and fondant bow. I have been working VERY hard to get these buttercream cakes perfectly smooth and flawless, and I think I am getting there!!

Vintage Inspired Lingerie

Okay, gotta tell all my friends, NO MORE LAST MINUTE CAKE ORDERS PLEASE!! LOL! I had just one day to bake and decorate this cake! I love my friends too much ;) LOL Anyways, this cake is a vanilla cake, strawberry filling, and cream cheese icing, decorated with fondant to look like a gift box! The bra and panties are fondant too.

Sail Boat Baby Shower

This cake was a vanilla cake, strawberry filling, and cream cheese icing decorated with fondant! The design was changed just days before the cake was due, so I had to put the sail boat on the side of the cake because of the lack of drying time :( Still, cute cake! The customer used a sail boat she had at home for a topper :D

Saints Birthday Cake!!

YUMMMY Cake!! This cake was inspired by the Doberge cake from Gambino's bakery in New Orleans, LA. Check out the Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doberge_cake. If you are ever in New Orleans, make the effort to get a slice of this cake!! My cake, although not the original, was still very yummy! French Vanilla cake, chocolate pudding filling (yes, REAL PUDDING!) covered in a layer of chocolate buttercream, poured chocolate ganache, and then decorated with fondant!!! This cake was HEAVY!!

My Little Butterball :D

One fat turkey!! HEHE!! I guess round these parts, turkey hunting is a pretty big deal! So, for this birthday cake, Cirtis got a cake that looked like a turkey!!! He is a vanilla cake, with strawberry filling, covered in buttercream, then decorated with a mixture of modeling chocolate and fondant! Cute little guy huh!?

Happy Anniversary!

June 25th, 2005, my best friend and I committed our lives together as husband and wife before God and our family and friends :) 6 years later, we are happy to report we are still on our honeymoon and even more in love than ever!! I have the absolute best husband in the world!!!! I made this 4 in mini cake for our anniversary this year. Its small and simple but so cute! The kids are getting old enough now to understand what it means to get married...I think....I made this cake and they asked if we would smash it in each others faces like we did at our wedding LOL!!
